Dr. Joanna R. Long is a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in the College of Medicine.  Her research includes protein structure and dynamics, membrane proteins, extracellular matrices, NMR, and lipid assembly & dynamics. It focuses on  developing magnetic resonance techniques for monitoring proteins, lipids, and metabolites in situ and in vivo to gain a molecular level understanding of their complex behaviors. Dr. Long has mentored two University Scholars Program Students in led them in this kind of research.
