Dr. Chalermchai “Charlie” Khemtong is an Associate Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism in the College of Medicine. Dr. Khemtong’s group is focused on understanding intermediary metabolism using stable isotope tracers, primarily carbon-13, combined with magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry techniques. His group is also developing novel imaging methods to detect metabolic abnormalities associated with diseases such as diabetes, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, and cancer. Dr. Khemtong has involved numerous undergraduate students in his lab and advertised his research opportunities using the CUR database.
