Project Description

The UF Health – Precision Health Research Center located in The Villages, FL, hosted within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) provides an opportunity for conducting translational research with a multidisciplinary team and features innovative and collaborative partners with a shared vision of improving the quality of life for Villagers and older adults across the U.S. 

The Center seeks an enthusiastic and qualified individual to fill the Student Research Assistant position. This position will work with research coordinators and PI’s whose projects in translational and implementation science aim at improving health care quality, outcomes, and well-being for older adults.

The Student Research Assistant will work on a wide array of project components, including data processing, data query, data annotation, literature review, and work with internal and external partners.

Students will have opportunities to present and/or publish the research that they contribute to as well as participate in professional development and networking opportunities provided by the Center.

Preferred Qualifications: Attention to detail, data entry, and research skills. Excellent communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively to a broad range of audiences such as faculty members, PIs, center directors, study coordinators, and community partners.

•           Healthcare research experience preferred, but not required

•           Data science-related experience preferred, but not required

Schedule: The student must be available to be scheduled to work off-campus in The Villages (about 1 hour south of Gainesville) during the week, Monday – Friday between the hours of 9a-5p.  Student researchers are scheduled a minimum of 8 hours per week and a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Pay rate: $13-16/hour commensurate with experience
