I am and have been conducting research into the national political scene using a unique tool called AdSAM. This technique utilizes a cutting edge non-verbal, cross-cultural, visual measure that accurately taps into the core of human emotional responses. The technique has been applied to many academic and proprietary studies. In political science, we apply the measure to candidates and major issues in national elections. Examples of this can be found on the blog www.SenseUs.net.
The College of Journalism and Communications is exploring using AdSAM polling data to produce a nationally distributed series of reports on the 2020 election, starting with trending emotional responses to the field of Democratic candidates.
To accomplish this, we need two types of assistance: analyzying and writing the explanations of the meaning and value of the output of the political surveys (targeted at a non-academic audience) and some editing and placement of the graphics.
This is a unique emotional response poll so the value to the assistant is some renumeration and byline credit for participating in the process. In addition, we have produced peer reviewed articles and conference papers of previous AdSAM results and hope to do more in the future with the 2020 results.
