The University of Florida’s special collections contain books, maps, manuscripts, and cultural objects from all over the world, and each has a story to tell. What makes them special? What brought them here? What did successive generations see in them besides the words printed or written on their pages that they thought was worth keeping? Researchers will work closely with the curators of our collections to identify books that are relevant to their major or their interests, and learn how to uncover their stories. Some sample materials and essays about their relevance can be found at https://ufspecialcollections.wordpress.com. For more information, or to talk about potential projects, please email Neil Weijer, Curator of Rare Books.
