The Center for Undergraduate Research Annual Fund supports the activities of undergraduate student researchers, such as student travel awards for professional conferences, undergraduate research events for networking and collaboration, and other activities that strengthen the undergraduate research experience.

UF Giving Day

On February 18, 2021, we will be participating in UF Giving Day for the first time! Help us reach our goal for 175 gifts that will directly support undergraduate research students and activities.

SUMMER UNDERGRADUATE INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH PROGRAM (SUIRP)Undergraduate students who have been accepted to conduct research at a foreign institution can apply for this award (up to $5000) to cover the costs of their 8-10 week summer program. In the three years of this program, we have sent nearly 15 students all over the world - Uganda, Argentina, France, Italy to name a few places - to represent the University of Florida and further their undergraduate research careers. Your gift can help ensure that this program lives on to continue sending Gators abroad for this life-changing opportunity. The Gator Nation is everywhere!
TRAVEL AWARDSPresenting at professional conferences are an integral part to the undergraduate research experience, as they allow students to network with peers and mentors in their fields outside the UF community – but it can get expensive! Our travel awards support undergraduate researchers in all disciplines who have been accepted to present at a professional conference. Your gift can make certain these students are focusing on the conference, not the cost.
COURSE-BASED UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH EXPERIENCE (CURE) COURSESCURE courses are real, authentic research experiences in a classroom setting for our University Research Scholars. CURE courses include a variety of disciplines and are shaped around faculty research in small group settings. While the research is likely to be highly specific, the course also provides students with wider insights into the research process, ways of creative thinking, and access to future research opportunities. Your gift can contribute to the costs of developing these courses to guarantee that our scholars can continue benefitting from these hands-on experiences.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH WEEKThere are so many great things about undergraduate research, we had to dedicate an entire week to celebrating it! Undergraduate Research Week showcases and celebrates undergraduate student research and creative projects across all disciplines. Open to UF undergraduates in all majors, this week provides opportunities for students to present their work from the past academic year to the UF campus community, alumni, and visitors. It also serves as an opportunity for non-research students to connect with research that happens across campus. Your gift can support the variety of events, workshops and pop-up opportunities that are planned by students, for students.
