My research problem will investigate how short term and long-term effects of spinal cord stimulation affects behavior as well as psychological measurements of pain and disability in patients with chronic low back pain. I hypothesize that the short-term benefits of the partially implanted spinal cord stimulator will result in a reduced pain level and increased lumbar flexion. I also hypothesize that the long-term benefits of SCS therapy will be reduced pain, improved gait/ balance, and increased lumbar flexion.
