Research InterestsPlasmonics is an emerging field that bridges the gap between nanoscale electronics and high-speed optoelectronics or photonics. This project explores the ways that materials such as Transparent Conducting Oxides (TCOs) whose plasma frequencies are tunable can be used realize components such as extremely high-speed electro-optic modulators, switches, gates, and memory elements on a scale that is comparable in size with VLSI electronics.
