Research Project

The Spatial Ecology of Trypanosoma cruzi in the Ground-Dwelling Rodents of North-Central Florida

This research project will determine the prevalence of Trypanosoma cruzi in Florida rodents and will be compared across species. Spatial ecology will then the used to understand if differences exist in the prevalence of this parasite at peridomestic versus sylvatic sites. The results will allow us to better understand the spread of zoonotic diseases and are therefore relevant in the context of wildlife and human populations.
