Research Project

Minimizing Negative Effects of Cyberbullying: Identifying Protective Strategies

The goal of my proposed research is to explore effective protective strategies parents use with their children in order to help them cope with cyberbullying. Using previously collected data from six focus groups, I will employ thematic analysis to analyze common themes and uncover the best practice, protective strategies that parents utilize with their children. The data gathered from these focus groups will go to inform a new addition to an existing parenting program. This added curriculum will advise parents on how to help their children cope with bullying and cyberbullying as well as offer tech parenting strategies.
