Research Project

The Correlation between Diversity in Educational Institutions and Academic Performance of Students

I am interested in analyzing the cultural diversity of faculty within the Warrington College of Business and determining if there is correlation with student academic performance and professional development. This research project will analyze age, ethnicity and gender of both faculty and students while taking into consideration any external factors that may affect a students academic performance. The main goal of this proposed research plan is to construct a final report on how to shift the Warrington College of Business pedagogy in a way to exemplify diverse culture among higher teaching educators and ultimately benefit not only students but the image of the business school at the University of Florida. The data collected for this project will be quantitative such as class grades and attendance. Through the use of analytical strategies it will not only be determined if there is a direct correlation between diversity and performance, but characteristics that are most detrimental to setting a student up for success will be identified. The research conducted has the ability to provide quantitative data and analysis to other colleges at the University of Florida that are looking to eliminate if any, gender andĀ racial gaps between faculty and students.
