Research Project

Smart Electropalatography for Linguistic and Medicine Applications (SELMA)

SELMA is an engineering project funded by National Science Foundation for linguistic and medical applications. The project targets aspects of speech production and articulation patterns to create a unique form of diagnostic for patients with neurological diseases/disorders that hinder speech. The engineering team focuses on developing a thin, non-invasive, and wireless biosensor device, which will minimize the blockage of airflow for comfort and speech production.
