Parkinson’s Disease is a neurodegenerative disease characterized by depletion of dopamine in the basal ganglia. Novel research in this field has begun to explore the impact of this disease on the immune system. While numerous studies have demonstrated dyshomeostasis within the immune system in Parkinson’s patients, the specific impact of the disease in this area is ill defined. This project will study the effects of Parkinson’s Disease on regulatory T cells primarily via flow cytometry.
