Why I got involved with research

I decided to get involved in research to gain more experience with working in a lab setting and getting the opportunity to apply the knowledge I have from classes in a practical way.

Research Project

Antimicrobial Resistance in Citrus Greening Plants

My research project is focusing on the impact of antibiotic application on the microbial community of plants, and particularly in the citrus environment. My hypothesis is that as the antibiotics are being sprayed more readily on the citrus groves, the microbial community in the soil will experience a decrease in the amount of species richness and diversity.
