Abstract
<p>This is a pilot project for my honors thesis. This project aims to understand the types and qualities of mentoring relationships that have had a positive influence on the journey into higher education for first-generation students at UF. This project will examine the social networks of First-Gen Gators during their time in high school. Through social network analysis, I will be able to gain insight into the most influential people in their lives and if any of those relationships aided their journey into higher education. This project will help add more depth and context about the higher education journey for minoritized students. </p>
