The world of undergraduate research stretches far beyond the boundaries of UF’s campus, and at the Center for Undergraduate Research we are dedicated to helping you find research experiences that will enrich your studies and jump start your career. Browse the research opportunities on our website to see if there is a program that would be the right fit for you.
The first thing you need to do is to find a research mentor. The best way to do this is to spend time going through faculty web pages to identify a list of researchers that interests you. To help you with your search, after you have read this page, click the link below to begin your search.
Search using the area that interests you to identify UF researchers in that area. Don’t be too narrow as the best first research position is the one that will take you! Also, don’t be too broad. Instead of searching biology, try to figure out what part of the field is of interest to you. You do not have to look only in your home department. Look in the department that you are hoping to go into in graduate school, professional school, or are just an interest.
CUR is only one of many units at UF that offer opportunities to engage in research for undergraduate students. View the link below for the Internal UF activities offered to undergraduate students.
There are many resources available locally and online for undergraduate research. Many organizations and companies nearby may have internships opportunities that involve research, you can reach out to them personally if something peaks your interest. Check out the External Links for opportunities.
The Scholars Programs introduces undergraduate students at the University of Florida to the exciting world of academic research.
