What is CURBS?

Center for Undergraduate Research Board of Students
Our Story

A Little About Us

The Center for Undergraduate Research Board of Students (CURBS) is a newly-established research outreach organization at the University of Florida. It is our first-and-foremost priority to introduce students to the benefits of research. If interested, we hope to help students identify and pursue research opportunities that just might change their entire college experiences. We emphasize that students of all academic disciplines are invited.

Our Mission

The mission of the Center for Undergraduate Research Board of Students (CURBS) is to help undergraduates become more involved in the research process, and to improve the student research experience in existing undergraduate programs. Through workshops, lectures, and peer advising, we hope to foster a challenging, enriching academic environment in the undergraduate community. We also hope to promote undergraduate research by creating awareness of the multitude of opportunities available to students, as well as creating a body of research resources for students to utilize.

Our Services

CURBS offers peer advising and workshops to ensure students learn valuable skills as an undergraduate researcher.  To those students already involved in research, we will be presenting opportunities for professional development and networking within your discipline and across campus. These connections through research may prove invaluable in professional careers down the road.

Looking back, I think my involvement with CURBS leadership is really where I discovered my passion for sharing science and research with others.
