Biography

Samhitha Katuru is a third-year Behavioral & Cognitive Neuroscience and Anthropology double major with a minor in Statistics. A former University Scholar, she currently conducts research in the Neurocognitive and Behavioral Development Lab, where she collects and analyzes neuroimaging and electrophysiological data to better understand cognitive mechanisms in individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She also works with the UF Center for Aging and Memory, studying age-related changes in cognition and the neurophysiological processes that influence and accelerate these changes. Outside of research, Samhitha works as a Registered Behavior Technician to implement ABA treatment plans for children with developmental disorders, and serves as a volunteer Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies (and logging them on Letterboxd), hiking, and reading all types of fiction!
