Hi! Amanda is very excited to be serving as one of the Director of Special Projects this school year! She is a third-year psychology major with an emphasis in behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, pursuing minors in anthropology and health disparities in society. She currently conducts research in the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease, where they investigate the molecular processes underlying diseases such as ALS and Alzheimer’s disease. Amanda has also done research in social media psychology through UF’s Department of Advertising, where she analyzed content on Instagram and TikTok. Amanda enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and watching movies with deep and ambiguous meanings in her free time. In addition to her involvement in CURBS and research, Amanda is an Ambassador for Student Activities and Involvement. Despite her busy schedule, she also finds time to volunteer with Hearts for the Homeless. A fun fact about Amanda is that she loves horror movies, especially ones with David Harbour. This is her third year in CURBS, and she is incredibly excited to host events that showcase all of the amazing research happening at the university and promote undergraduate research for all!
