Biography

Jake is a fourth-year Behavioral and Cognitive Neuroscience and Women’s Studies double major with a minor in Health Disparities in Society. As a part of URSP Jake was a part of an Arts in Medicine lab his freshman year. Following this he joined the Casadesus lab where his research focused on neurodegenerative diseases as examined through microglia analysis. He aims to pursue a career in medicine following his graduation from undergrad and his Master of Public Health program. Outside of being a student assistant, Jake is the Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow Vice President of the Florida Cicerones. Vice Chair of Outreach for GASP. Recruitment Chair for PhiDE. a current Reitz Scholar, Gator Welcome Guide, past Preview Staffer, Volunteer for Streetlight at UF Health Shands, Flipping the System Ambassador, Mentorship Co-director for URSP, and is in the UF Honors Program. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, baking, thrifting, running, and trying new coffee shops in the Gainesville area!
