Catherine Smith

Biography
Catherine is a third year public health major with minors in medical geography and pathogenesis. She currently does research at the Emerging Pathogens Institute exploring H5N1 and farmer’s health in relation to their farming practices. She also has a huge passion for the medical humanities where she has completed a digital exhibit showcasing art made by those with HIV/AIDS who aim to break the stigma surrounding their disease. She plans on becoming an infectious disease epidemiologist and dreams of one day having her own lab. Outside of her role in CURBS, Catherine is a member of AED, a part of the Student Health Advisory Council and involved in UF’s Student Government Cabinet. In her free time, Catherine loves to read, take a nice nap, rollerskate and play rhythm games.
