Varun Kanneganti
Biography
Hello! Varun is a third-year Microbiology major and Bioinformatics minor. His current research at the College of Medicine focuses on the study of a lipid-nanoparticle (NP) that has potential to be used as cancer immunotherapeutic vaccine. The scope of his research is understanding the cellular uptake mechanisms of the cationic lipid-NP in dendritic cell lines. Varun’s first interaction with CURBS was attending a “How to Find a Research Project” workshop, and his admiration for the ambassador’s insight and willingness to assist students drove him to join CURBS. He values sharing his research experience with others and believes workshops are invaluable in guiding students in their research journey. Besides his involvement in CURBS Varun, he is the UF chapter treasurer of AMSA and a member of the Formula 1 club. When asked to provide a fun fact, Varun provided three, speaking to his dedication to exceeding expectations. He can solve a Rubix Cube in 30 seconds, has traveled to 15 countries, and intends to watch 100 movies this year!
